TRADUÇÃO E CRÍTICA LITERÁRIA DA OBRA, THE BLACK CAT ,DE EDGAR ALLAN POE

Abstract

The research has the aims to show some aspects of translation in the story "The Black Cat" by Edgar Allan Poe. This work develops a theoretical dialogue with the thinkers of the translation techniques, drawing a parallel between form and meaning and showing the importance of the implementation language in the tales of Poe for Portugueses readers to have the opportunity to meet literary works by this author that were originally written in English. Were used two translations of the same tale: Ricardo Gouveia and Clarice Lispector in comparison with the original Edgar Allan Poe, to understand how occurred the implementation process, aiming to see if there were significant changes at the semantic level through conversion into Portuguese. While theoretical were used names of relevant authors in this research area. The work is important, because it comes to meeting to the current context of language studies of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás, to interest the future s masters for this line of research.
