CASAMENTO, EMBATES E ARRANJOS POLÍTICOS EM GOIÁS: UMA ABORDAGEM DAS RELAÇÕES DE PODER NA PERSPECTIVA DE GÊNERO.

Abstract

This paper aims to innovate in addressing conflicts and political arrangements in Goias that resulted in the emancipation of Santa Rita Paranaíba in the south of the State, from the reflection on the women s participation in the political field, taking into account the category of Gender in the design historian American Joan W. Scott, "a primary way of signifying relationships of power." The research is structured in three parts and seeks to use the definition of power according to Michel Foucault s thought that sees it as more or less organized bundles without being centered on an instance of social organizations. In the early part of the political is addressed within the context of the new political history, with a shift of power to the state and public institutions to private life and everyday men and women. The axis of research is in the second part, the focus on the Gender perspective to analyze and give visibility to women. At the end we seek to bring new interpretations and meanings to the political events that occurred during this period through methodological strategies that allow to reveal the "unsaid" in research on the subject. The central approach takes into account women, who they could not participate in the elections and political parties though, were able to influence power relations from other private settings, with alternative performances, leading politician for everyday family, religious and social. From this approach, the work focuses on the study of the women s actions those that belonged to a family of Morrinhos in the south of the state to find out how they participated in social and political movement that influenced the coup in 1909 in Goiás and the political emancipation of Santa Rita do Paranaíba. The research seeks to differentiate itself from some descriptive approaches that have become prevalent in the goiana historiography. They attach to the colonels leading role of power relations in the first Republic in Goiás, offering as a result a new historical document with new questions, hypotheses and a method that uses the category Gender to analyze and understand how to have the social and political relations between men and women who have set new institutions of the republican period, relations of domination, preparation of electoral norms, social roles and practices that have been challenged, transformed or legitimized these power relations.
