A CRISE DA COMUNIDADE NA RELIGIOSIDADE PÓS-MODERNA SOB A PERSPECTIVA DE ZYGMUNT BAUMAN.

Abstract

The objective of this dissertation is based on the perception of Zygmunt Bauman about modernity and community, in how to investigate the notion of religious community in the horizons of modernity. It is a presentation of how religion has been presented in the modern liquid scenario described by Bauman. For this, we will use bauman‘s concepts of modernity and community. In this dissertation (text) we‘ll discuss the liquid-modern condition, reffering to the new forms of communitarisation, the emergence of new instances of the collective as well as the new meaning of the process of the individual identity and its effect on community relations. The central issue is to investigate if there is a community crisis in the post-modern religiosity. It is a bibliographic research that will unfold on the prospect of Zygmunt Bauman on the concepts of modernity and the community as a central theoretical referential. Once founded the concept of modernity and the community we will guide them about the datas of the Religious Census 2010 of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) ,connecting them with Bauman‘s perspective. The concepts exposed in this research as the liquid modernity ,the lightness of the relations ,the liquidity of the bonds, of the immediacy, of the dictatorship of the choice, of the moment tyranny, of the adiaforization ,of the objective and subjective freedom ,of the shared understanding of the concepts zombies of modernity as community, individuality, emancipation, time / space relation and work, provided important information on the analysis of our time and our society. It take us to conclude that apparently there is a new meaning of what we understand today as a religious community. These communities did not finish with the advent of modernity. Otherwise, when analyzing the IBGE Census data (2010) we realized a search for belonging. However, the mechanisms by which retains the binding strength of these new communities have changed. If in the old community the binding force was organic and mediated by the shared understanding, in liquid modernity any binding force in a religious community is dependent on individual skills of its members and their ability to resist the offers of the competitive religious market.
