Abstract

The changes that have taken place, and those that still occur, regarding the manner in which the generalizing human race sees the construction and deconstruction of the genres, are directly linked to the Feminist Movement. This is because, historically, the struggle for equality of rights, respect, opportunities, etc. waged by feminism, and that has dragged on for centuries, was the impeller of the deconstruction of roles based on androcentrism and pre-established for the masculine to subjugate the feminine. And among the many roles imposed on women is that of mother-ideal, which presupposes that every woman can and should be a mother, and this role has been deconstructed by feminist reflections. Therefore, the changes that have taken place in the way the generalizing human race sees the construction and deconstruction of gender and motherhood, which is the object of this study, are directly linked to the feminist movement. In order to explain the construction and deconstruction of motherhood, through feminist movements and gender issues, the cinematographic work All about my mother was chosen by director Pedro Almodóvar. The methodology used in this dissertation was bibliographic research, which was used of digital and printed publications. The development of this work in four chapters, introduction and general considerations. Chapters I, II, III and IV are titled as: Women and the Feminist Movement; Family and public policies; Women and maternity; the film All about my mother, by Pedro Almodóvar. It is hoped that this work may add knowledge about the deconstruction and reconstruction of motherhood, a recurring theme in the Feminist Movement and in a wide range of research, studies, philosophical, sociological writings, etc., but still needs to be discussed, so that it is always remembered and that allows greater freedom of choices to the feminine.
