A ECOFICÇÃO E A ANTROPOLOGIA DO IMAGINÁRIO EM EPOPEIA DOS SERTÕES

Abstract

This research analyzes the novel Epopéia dos Sertões, writen by Willian Agel de Mello, considering the nuances witch make it a true work of art. In this critical work, we have intended to identify as representations of nature, under some theorical aspects of imaginary adopted by Gilbert Durand. Our main objectives are: to increase the discussion about concepts of ecofiction, imagery, imagination and image; to analyze a gesture by the theory of the imaginary, highlight scenes described in Mello narrative, geting out images like symbol of water viscosity; besides tree, animal, fruit and plant isomorphisms, deforestation and progress; searching the reverie of symbols: teriomorphic, nictomorphic and catamorphic; of the dynamic image; the voice of animals and the animality of man; target facts on historical and work, showing the link between man and nature, linking the topofilic image and the topophoby. We start from the hypothesis, the imaginary for life and the set of images and images that constitute the homo sapiens capital thought. It is a question of excellence that deserves a work The Epic of Sertão, like the imaginary of William Agel de Melo, a being analyzed. Ecocritics allow an analysis of the literature and the environment and, thus, analyzed an ecofiction while representing a reality about the ecosystem; Topography, according to Tuam, "Is the affective link between a person and the place and a Topophoby brings up the contrary sensation," and a narrative to mark the characters and, with the look, to approach these images. The methodology adopted is a historical method of literary work and the environment. In the light of this approach, it was possible to see an analysis of the imaginary theory method, in convergence to Bachelard's daydream, unexpected results. This must have the force of the image that is connected with an infinity of other senses. The dirty river, for example, may be more than that, can be perceived as the redoubling of man full of evil, unscrupulous, the most ferocious animal that nature has even produced, since it is capable of killing by its kind, by sheer banality.
