Abstract

The present dissertation, in the area of Culture and Symbolic System, aims to demonstrate the origin of violence against women and religion, bringing the basic biblical text in Genesis as an initial source, facts that occurred so long according to the predominant biblical history. until nowadays. The following Laws 11.340-2006, known as the ―Maria da Penha Law‖ and the Law 13.104 / 15 of Femicide will be addressed. A recently identified, typified and legitimized form of violence suffered by women, which most often ends with the fatal outcome, the ―death‖ of women. It aims to analyze the elements that show the reasons for the types of violence until the homicide of women who suffer violence. Approaching the patriarchal system as an effect of domination and power, until the point of taking the lives of some women. And demonstrate the main characteristics and elements of violence against women in society. We work to demonstrate the relationship between religion and violence against women in the state of Goiás, as well as understand the phenomena that cause these violence. The hypothesis that guided us is that Violence against women is a reality that every day shocks Brazilian society, the increase of violence in the state of Goiás is something that has grown in recent years in the capital of Goiás. Disclosure on the subject may open a social vision for the authorities of our state of Goiás, providing effective measures for the victims.
