Os sentidos e significados do Batalhão da Polícia Militar Escolar para comunidades escolares do bairro Jardim Novo Mundo da cidade de Goiânia - Goiás

Abstract

This research, linked to the Education, Society and Culture Research Line, of the Postgraduate Program in Education (PPGE) of the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás (PUC Goiás), aims to apprehend the senses and meanings of the performance of the Military Police Battalion School of the State of Goiás, in the school units in the Jardim Novo Mundo neighborhood of the city of Goiânia - Goiás. The investigation process was based on the theoretical assumptions of Vigotski's Socio-Historical Psychology, which is structured by the dialectical materialist method. Of a qualitative character, the methodological procedures of its constitution were based on empirical research, the collection took place through semistructured interviews and the systematization and analysis were based on the methodological procedures called the meaning core, being the support for the materialization of this study. It was organized as follows: The first chapter presents the State of the Art on School Military Police Battalion in scientific productions of Higher Education institutions in Brazil, in order to unveil the discussions on this theme in the country's Graduate Programs, in which productions were found in the following programs: Citizenship and Violence, Public Health, Social Sciences, Legal Sciences, Human Rights, Education, Production Engineering, Psychology, Public Policies, Public Security and Social Work. The second chapter starts from the discussion about the school and its social function, as a support for a critical formation and apprehension of reality, based on dialogue, cultivating practices that lead to humanization, afterwards, the issue of the phenomenon of violence in school, based on the conceptualization of its various manifestations and consequences in the school environment. The third chapter presents a rescue of the constitution of Battalions of the Military School Police in the Brazilian States, then deals with the trajectory of creation of the Battalion of the state of Goiás; soon after, it problematizes the existence of this military battalions, draft laws that seek to standardize actions by the Military Police in Brazilian schools, as well as the Drug Resistance Educational Program, an action by the Military Police present in all Brazilian states. The fourth chapter presents the senses and meanings of the Military School Police Battalion for the research participants, which were structured in four groups of meanings: "Protection, security and combating violence"; "Tranquility and tension"; "Contributes and does not Contribute"; "For some peaceful people, for others they cause discomfort, pain and suffering". The results of this research revealed that the police are accepted within the school space with the aim of providing more security, because for the research participants, violence has entered the school walls and thus interferes in the teaching and learning process, as well as mentioning that the undisciplined acts practiced by the students corroborate the acceptance of the police inside the school, because the presence of this corporation intimidates the students. However, it was not proven in the research, that this presence contributes to the social function of the school, as they do not act in a preventive way to prevent violence, both inside and around schools
