Comunidades remanescentes de quilombo em Paranã-Tocantins: educação escolar, história, memória, cultura e narrativas

Abstract

This investigation is affiliated to the Research Line "Society Culture and Education", of the Post-Graduate Program in Education, at the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás. As a general objective, it seeks to understand the process of transmission of the identity knowledge of memory and history of the quilombola people, throughout their formation, in the maintenance and transmission of their culture. In the specific field, it was intended to analyze the cultural manifestations of narratives and memories passed from generation to generation; investigate which practices were internalized as habitus in the process of cultural formation, relating, through the narratives of subjects involved in this construction, how this knowledge is also passed on in school education. Therefore, it was intended to record the history and narratives of memory in their knowledge and practices, their trajectory of experiences in the process of formation of the remnants, as well as their quilombola culture and identity. This made it possible to understand the different forms of perception of the world, the social representation given to the school, as well as the development of the relationship between teaching and learning. The research started from the following issue: How does the process of cultural and historical transmission of the Quilombola Claro, Prata, Ouro Fino and Kalunga Mimoso-Albino community take place, based on memory and history in the maintenance and dissemination of their culture? This is a qualitative research, which guided the analysis of the memories and narratives of the subjects of the quilombos from the bibliographical review on history, memory and identity based on the methodology of Oral History and, in some aspects, on the documental and oral corpus, reveal traces of ethnographic research and iconography. Interviews, testimonies and life stories, records and other sources were used, which contributed to the investigation. It is noteworthy that the sources used were supported by theoretical references in the field of Cultural History. It is considered that the quilombola communities Claro, Plata, Ouro Fino and Kalunga Mimoso-Albino, of Paranã (TO), experience the marks of the historical and political moment experienced by the emancipation process. Thus, the relevance of this study is justified by bringing to the Academy the clashes experienced by quilombola communities in search of social change. It is expected that this thesis will contribute to the rescue and registration of quilombola culture, aiming to prepare the people also for political participation and the appreciation of their culture, as well as the routines that were narrated to them by oral tradition, preserving their inherited beliefs and practices from previous generations
