O GRUPO DE JOVENS: ESPAÇO DE FORMAÇÃO DA IDENTIDADE POLÍTICA

Abstract

This research had the objective to investigate the group of youth of the parochial community. It verified the influence or not of the religious ideas, propagated in this group in the formation of the politic identity of the youth. For the study of the subject, the methodology used, took in consideration some concepts such as: identity, politics, youth, group and religion. For identity we assume that it is the resultant of a self-perception cultural process of construction. The term youth was taken as social and delimited category used by ONU, from 15 to 24 years old. The concept of religious was understood as a meaning former and the group as a mediator of the citizen and the amplest reality, as space of learning and formation of protagonists. We understand politics as place and form to exercise power which is proper of the relations of human beings; as the art of living together with the different and its capacity to create consensuses. We could realize that the experience lived in the group of youth can make difference in the formation of people lives, however it depends on the conditions of the group, the time of participation and the level of the evolvement of the person in the process. With these considerations it s possible to say that for some youth that take part of the group the religious ideas feeds an action directed toward the other person and, also, to the enrollment in small actions that modify the life of the youth and the community where he or she participates. Therefore, the group can form new ethos politician in the young that of it participates, depending on the participation conditions.
