Objetividade e subjetividade : impacto na vida social do soropositivo : um estudo com portadores de HIV/AIDS

Abstract

This study intends to analyze the constitutive mediations of the relationship between individual and society, the beginning of HIV/AIDS reality linked to the matters of sexual order and understand the process between objectivity and subjectivity that are present in the impact of HIV/AIDS in the social life of seropositive people. Socialhistoric reference and qualitative research were used assuming that the instances of socialization of the individuals based on culture, values, rationality, and affectivity are the foundation of the constitution of subjectivity. Data were collected in interviews and through the analysis of documents of Hospital de Doenças Tropicais HDT, in Goiânia-GO, a reference in the State of Goiás in attending HIV/AIDS patients. The people interviewed were selected among the patients that have been attended in the hospital from the year 2000 on. The analysis of the documents and the interviews gave subsidies to the recognition of the impact of HIV/AIDS on the patients social life. The patients expressed, in their speeches, the condition of predisposition to contamination, the reaction to the diagnosis and the elaboration of their new condition in their social environment. Thus, it was possible to discuss relevant aspects of sexual knowledge in the work sphere and the lack of pleasure combined with the production and expression of life and the contradictions set by rational logic of this society, which engenders coercion and capture mechanisms that produce a type of existence apart of effective social participation.
