MEDO E INSEGURANÇA: REFLEXOS DA METROPOLIZAÇÃO EM APARECIDA DE GOIÂNIA.

Abstract

This work aims to discuss how the diagnostics of the determinants of the fear and the feeling of insecurity, as well as the connections and implications of the effects of the phenomenon of violence, can collaborate with the public security policies. This understanding helped on the impact of such feelings in urban life, within the framework of two interconnected cities spatially: Goiânia and Aparecida de Goiânia. The effort of this review fell on violence and its effects in the city, notably the fear and the feeling of insecurity present in Aparecida de Goiania which is, in this survey, the city seen in the metropolitan context. Its conurbation with the capital of Goiânia, city-centre of the metropolitan area, flared up a close relationship of dependency between both. Discussing these concepts historically and inserting them in the segregation and social vulnerabilities, we associated the feelings and the perspectives of local victimization to the perceptions of violence, fear and insecurity in cities like Aparecida de Goiânia.
