A LITERATURA DE TESTEMUNHO SOBRE A SHOAH EM PRIMO LEVI.

Abstract

This dissertation contains the analysis of three books of the Jewish-Italian, survivor of Auschwitz Primo Levi: If This Is a Man (1947), The Truce (1962) and The Drowned and the Saved (1986). The purpose of this research is to show the importance of the works of Primo Levi as a witness of the Shoah and how literature was the possible way he could find to narrate the horrors suffered as a form of denunciation and in the preservation of the memory and the gaps of the prisoners due to trauma of the event. The methodology used to compose the corpus of this study was the Discourse Analysis, especially in Michel Foucault, Dominique Maingueneau, Michel Pêcheux and Eni Orlandi to clarify the role of the subject, the scenario, paratopia and other concepts pertinent to DA. Other authors such as Paul Ricoeur, Gadamer, Arendt, Seligmann-Silva and Agamben were sought to contribute to a richer analysis of the Jewish prisoners who were hit by the Nazi anti-Semitic policy of the "Final Solution" and how they were hit in their future lives.
