Abstract

This research, linked to the research line Education, Society and culture of The Graduate Program in education of the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás, integrates the doctoral thesis in education. It is a historical research, contributing to research in the history of Education and the area of history of Educational Institutions. The object of the thesis is the educational pioneering of the city of Trindade - GO. As a general objective, it stands out to research the remains, documents and narratives about the creation of Pioneer Schools. The time frame elucidates with the discovery of the medallion of the Divine Eternal Father, a crucial point in the history of the city of Trindade - GO, in 1840 and we continue until 1970, the year that corresponds to the implementation of many schools in the municipality. My concerns stem from the following questions: Who knows the history of the school where he studied or studies? Where are the documents, records and information about them? Trindade is a city that has its historical value related to faith in the Divine Eternal Father and, therefore, a great influence on the foundations of school units, especially in their names, being mostly names of Catholic priests or Saints. This is a qualitative study, the written corpus of which is based on the collection, organization and survey of a variety of documents coming from public and private archives related to the topic and period specified in the research. For the elaboration of the historical narrative, in addition to the cataloged documents, an oral corpus was created through the Oral History methodology, which provided oral sources selected through the survey of individuals involved in the history of the institution and who shared their memories. Based on the assumption that there are few studies that record the history and memory of education and school institutions in the city, it is intended to develop an exploratory research, more subjective of the analyzed object, studying particularities, experiences, the history of Pioneer teachers, whose highlight professor Iraci Borges. From the theoretical and methodological perspective of Cultural history, the thesis seeks to understand the historical evolution of Pioneer Schools, through the memories of its members, their educational culture and their integration into the local and regional community. This study is divided into four chapters: the first is entitled The methodological paths of the research, demonstrating the construction of the professional trajectory, the production of knowledge as a documentary source and the oral and written corpus and its importance in the history of Education; the second chapter entitled Building the scenario of Pioneer Schools, exploring the historical view of school pioneering in the world and in Brazil, the construction of the space of Pioneer Schools in Goiás; the third chapter is entitled: traces of the scenario of the creation of Pioneer Schools in the municipality of Trindade-GO, bringing the history of the capital of faith and its relationship with the educational aspect, the extinct pioneer schools and the trajectory of the oldest existing schools; in the fourth chapter entitled Times and spaces of memory of Pioneer teachers, Iraci Borges: cuts and clippings of a life dedicated to education the school culture in life the current scenario of Municipal Education. Next are the final considerations, when we display the reflections on the entire study. The research and analysis of the sources allowed us to understand that we need to know our roots, our history, because it manifests our identity and the school has its historical roots of great relevance to our culture and the knowledge of the community, providing expand knowledge about the history of Education
